Moby Dick (film)

As part of the Sovereign Seas International Maritime Folk Festival weekend Eastbourne's Under Ground Theatre will be screening the classic 1956 film, Moby Dick at as its Sunday matinee film on the 6th April.

Moby Dick is based on Hermann Melville’s famous 19th century novel about one man’s dark obsession to kill a whale that mutilated him on a previous voyage. Ishmael (Richard Baseheart), a wandering sailor boards the Pequod, a whaling vessel commanded by Captain Ahab (Gregory Peck). Ishmael and the crew soon learn the true purpose of the voyage and as Ahab’s bitterness spreads; the crew manically join their captain in the final, fatal attack.
