Rusalka (opera)

Dvorak's timeless masterpiece is the next Met Opera to be 'live on screen' at Eastbourne's Cineworld. Yannick Nezet-Seguin conducts in Otto Schenk's haunting production and award-winning soprano Renee Fleming returns to her signature role, delivering a spellbinding, enchanting rendition of the much-loved 'Song to the Moon'.

Water nymph, Rusalka (Renee Fleming), has fallen in love with a Prince (Piotr Beczala), a fact of which he is completely unaware because Rusalka is invisible to all mortals. She longs to take on human form and is convinced that, should he see her, he would return her love. She consults the witch Jezibaba (Dolora Zajick) who concocts a potion. However, Jezibaba warns that should Rusalka be betrayed by the Prince, once in her human form she will be damned for all eternity. Undeterred, Rusalka decides to drink the potion
