Chris Wood who regularly tops the polls at the annual BBC Folk Awards is nominated again this year for the category Best Original Song with “None the Wiser”. He writes traditional songs with a heart and soul rarely found in contemporary music, which prompted The Guardian to say of his award winning song "Hollow Point" (a chilling portrayal of the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes)....."This is the finest and most original singer-songwriter to have emerged from the British folk scene since Richard Thompson". Chris recently underwent a fifty date tour with Joan Armatrading and regularly performs alongside Martin and Eliza Carthy and others in The Imagined Village. Now he's on his way to Hailsham!
Set to open the show is Grace Petrie whose passionate and politically aware songs have been applauded by the likes of Billy Bragg (with whom she took the stage at Glastonbury), Frank Turner and Tom Robinson.
