Neil Bousfield (art)

Big Boy II
by Neil Bousfield
The lovely Emma Mason Gallery on Cornfield Terrace recently added beautiful prints by Neil Bousfield to their website and gallery. Many are reduction engravings and so no block remains once the edition is printed and complete. I have really gotten into printed art over the last few months, since seeing the Eric Slater ones at the Towner I suppose, and enjoy keeping an eye out for new artists in this medium to discover! I was attracted to Neil Bousfield's work by the intricacy of some of his images. One of his favourite themes is whippet dogs, so it you're needing a last-minute doggy Christmas present, this might be worth a look!

"Neil Bousfield studied MA Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking at the University of West England, Bristol, awarded distinction in 2007 and later took a Post-Graduate Certificate at University of the Arts, London. He worked for some years as a freelance animator and in 2003 became interested in printmaking whilst working for a charity for excluded teenagers. This led to further teaching posts and Neil is currently a full-time lecturer in Illustration at Norwich University of the Arts. In 2009 he was elected a member of The Society of Wood Engravers. In summer 2013 Neil had two prints selected for the Royal Academy summer show and both editions sold out during the exhibition."
