Muppet Christmas Carol (film)

It's the first of December today and I'm sure some of you have already got your Christmas lights blazing, but I haven't started to get seasonally jolly yet. Perhaps starting a few Christmassy posts will do the trick?

This time around, the Royal Hippodrome's Fun Film Party is intended for children and will be hosted by Henrietta Hippo. The Muppet Christmas Carol will be screened from 10.30 in the morning - it is a Saturday - but I doubt parents will be able to leave their kids completely unaccompanied there in order to dash off to start Christmas shopping!

The Muppet Christmas Carol was released in 1992 so is now twenty-one years old - now that's scary! It is pretty closely based on the Charles Dickens' story, A Christmas Carol, and stars Michael Caine as Ebeneezer Scrooge. Muppet stars include Gonzo as Charles Dickens the narrator, Kermit as Bob Cratchit and Miss Piggy as his wife Emily. This was the first Muppet film released after Jim Henson had died and was directed by his son, Brian.

Royal Hippodrome, 14th Dec, 10:30.
Tickets £5 in advance, £7 on the door, available online, by calling 01323 412000, or in person from Eastbourne Theatres Box Office and Eastbourne Tourist Information Centre.
