Merrily We Roll Along (musical theatre)

Maria Friedman's hugely acclaimed production of the Sondheim musical classic, Merrily We Roll Along, has its first cinema broadcast at Cineworld TOMORROW evening! Don't panic if this is a bit too short notice though - there's an encore matinee on the 3rd of November too.

The show was captured live at the Harold Pinter Theatre having moved from its original venue, the Menier Chocolate Factory. Friedman's revival won the Peter Hepple Award for Best Musical in the 2012 Critics' Circle Theatre Awards. Now the broadcast is the first in a projected series of West End shows to be screened under a partnership between Cinema Live and Digital Theatre.

Set over three decades in the entertainment business Merrily We Roll Along charts the relationship between three friends Franklin, Mary and Charley. Travelling backwards in time, this powerful and moving story features some of Stephen Sondheim’s most beautiful songs including ‘Good Thing Going’, ‘Not a Day Goes By’ and ‘Old Friends’.

Cineworld, Thu 24th Oct, 1930, and Sun 3rd Nov, 14:30.
Tickets £10.50 adults, £8.40 concessions, available online, by calling 0871 200 2000, or in person from the foyer.
