Eastbourne Theatres have found the perfect dazzling musical to wow the crowds during Airbourne week. Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert features huge wigs, outrageous costumes (one appears to be made purely of flip flops!) and the showstopping disco songs: It’s Raining Men, I Will Survive, Hot Stuff, Boogie Wonderland, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and I Love The Nightlife.
Based on the 1990s hit movie of the same, Priscilla has been a smash hit both in the West End and on Broadway, winning several awards especially for the costume designs. The show tells the story of three friends, two drag queens and a transsexual woman, who are invited to perform a drag show in the Australian town of Alice Springs. However, the three are in Sydney and must travel across Australia in a lavender coloured bus named Priscilla, encountering many strange characters along the way.
The Eastbourne performances will star Welsh singer Noel Sullivan, formerly of Hear'Say but he has also played Galileo in We Will Rock You and Danny in Grease. Here's a short interview with him for Wales Online.
