Screen Printing workshop (art)

So we're three days into 2013. How are your Resolutions holding up? Having broken mine practically every year in the past, I now 'aim to' rather than 'resolve to'. The principle is identical but the sense of failure is greatly diminished!

If you had decided to discover a new skill or become more artistic in 2013, I might just have stumbled across a workshop to suit. Textile artist Christine Chester is running a couple of two-hour Screen Printing taster sessions next Saturday, the 12th of January, at Studio Eleven in Eastbourne. The sessions are intended to provide a introduction to the versatility of screen printing and attendees will print a ready-made design onto a tea towel which they can take away with them at the end. Each session is a one-off event so there is no need to make a lengthy commitment but places are limited so if you would like to join in, you will need to book up in advance.

Christine will provide all the materials necessary including protective aprons and gloves, screens, squeegees, blank tea towels, and a ready-made design to use. Please do wear old clothes though! The designed screens will be usable in several combinations and with 2-3 colours so everyone can add their own personalised touches to their tea towel. At the end, instructions will be given for how to fix the dye at home so the towels will be fully usable.

As of yesterday evening, there were still places in both sessions, but if you want to register your interest, don't wait too long or you'll miss out!

Studio Eleven, Sat 12th Jan, 10:00-12:00 or 14:00-16:00.
£12 per person. Book online by emailing
