One Night In Vienna (dance)

Dance of a very different kind to Target Dance is on offer, also at the Congress Theatre, two weeks later when One Night In Vienna takes to the stage. Based on Raymond Gubbay's long-running Johann Strauss Gala, the new show has the extra draw of being hosted by the irrepressible showman, conductor Rainer Hersch. The audience will be taken on a whistle-stop tour of sparkling Viennese music and dance from the most romantic of eras. The production has been choreographed and directed by Alexandra Worrall and will feature the soprano Charlotte Elett.

The Johann Strauss Dancers, dressed in gorgeously billowing period costume, will elegantly whirl through the Songs Of Love Waltz, the Blue Danube Waltz, Voices Of Spring, Radetzky March, Thunder And Lightning Polka, Streams Of Lava Waltz, and The Laughing Song from Die Fledermaus plus other timeless waltzes from composers including Tchaikovsky and Lehar. The music will be played by the Johann Strauss Orchestra which I believe is the one created by Andre Rieu and seen in his Home For Christmas broadcast.

Congress Theatre, Sat 26th Jan, 19:30.
Tickets various prices, available online, by calling 01323 412000 or in person at the Box Office and the Tourist Information Office.
