A rehearsed reading of Charles Dickens' seasonal favourite A Christmas Carol is going to be performed at Seaford Little Theatre on Saturday the 22nd of December, following performances at Lewes Town Hall on the previous two evenings. The Players Collective production will star Jack Shepherd (Wycliffe) as Scrooge and the idea is that it will be staged as a radio play. Also in the cast are Paul Bentinck, Padraig Breathnach, Steve Frost, Rhiannon James, Ruth Kerr, Patti Page, Chris Parke, Victoria Thompson, Dudley Ward and Tom Ware. A Christmas Carol is directed by Lewis Reid.
The Players Collective was founded in December 2010 by Jack Shepherd and Victoria Thompson and is a professional profit-sharing theatre company who produce work in Lewes, Brighton and South-East England. The Collective has a co-operative spirit with members helping outduring production runs. Previous productions include a three-play Pinter - The Dumb Waiter / Ashes To Ashes / Victoria Station, Vita And Virginia by Eileen Atkins, and also Blackbird by David Harrower which was the Collective's contribution to the Brighton Festival in 2011. We saw Blackbird in Eastbourne earlier this year produced by Green Room.
