The work actually began ten years earlier when Mel Howard and Jose Libertella decided to create a new and innovative dance show. Accompanied by choreographer Hector Zaraspe and painter Ricardo Carpani, they spent many months in Buenos Aires uncovering all the different stories of the tango and putting together an amazing cast of dancers. The current two-hour show is an emotional journey through 100 years of Argentina's native dance with music by many famous tango composers including Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzolla.
The Tango Pasion dancers are six couples: Osvaldo Ciliento with Graciela Garcia, Marcos Ayala with Paola Camacho, Alejandro Andrian with Lida Mantovani, Leandro Gomez with Carolina Giannini, Marcelo Bernadaz with Silvia Fuentes, Silvana Carolina Allievi with Mariano Balois. They are also bringing their own musicians, the Tango Pasion Sextet directed by Gabriel Merlino and including Pablo Estigarribia, Jorge Orlando Ines Rojas, Katharina Landsberg, Marc Antonio Fernandez, Jose Maria Taulamet.
