Night Folk (music)

Night Folk: Embrace The Dark is a Towner Club Night event happening at the Towner Gallery in association with Brighton music promoters Melting Vinyl. Melting Vinyl previously produced the Studio 54 events inspired by the wonderful Robert Mapplethorpe exhibition that was then running. Night Folk is inspired by the current Collective Observations folklore and photography exhibition.
Early Ghost

During the evening, there will be sea songs and shanties with Hastings Shantymen and Rattlebag. There will also be a performance from local band Early Ghost, a new performance art show from The Baron and entertainment from Wandering Minstrels Will and Ed. While you browse the interesting exhibition itself, Jo Burke and the Handbell Ringers will be playing. Guests are invited to dress up in folk costume and a photographer will be on hand to take portrait photographs for a Flickr record of the event. Prizes are on offer for the best costumes, and if that isn't enough to tempt you along, ales and ciders will be served, faces will be painted and fortunes will be told!

Towner Gallery, Sat Nov 24th, 20:30.
Tickets £8 (£6 concessions) in advance or £9 (£7 concessions) on the door.
Over 18s only.
