The ever-popular Eastbourne folk group Black Strap Molasses are returning to the Underground Theatre for two of the Coffee Morning sessions in 2013 - one in July and one in October.
The group was founded by Lamb Folk Club resident Nick Westcott in 1982. They play a range of British and American inspired folk music counting Loudon Wainwright, John Gorka, Chumbawamba, and The Strawbs among their influences. I expect the gig will include tracks from their newest CD, A Shivery Waltz, which was launched at the Underground in May 2012. As well as Nick (vocals and guitar), the line-up comprises of Veronica Clark (keyboard and harmony vocals), Sean Markwick (bass guitar) and Melody Westcott (lead vocal).Advice from the Underground Theatre is to get to the venue early if you want to actually have a seat! Black Strap Molasses are likely to pack out the theatre on both the occasions they play there.
Underground Theatre, Sat 13th Jul 2013, Sat 19th Oct 2013, 10:00-12:00.
