Dana & Susan Robinson (music)

**** CANCELLED****
This folk night will now be Hatful Of Rain, the Sussex based Appalachian band.

American musicians Dana & Susan Robinson are visiting the UK for a month-and-a-bit long tour this September and their third venue, just after the Fylde Folk Festival, will be The Lamb Folk Club at The Lamb Inn.
The duo perform the traditional music of rural America and both are talented musicians. Their trademark sound is guitar and banjo although you can also expect to hear fiddle, mandolin and, of course, the hauntingly beautiful harmonies that are typical of this music. Their songs are rooted in the storytelling tradition and the gig will no doubt include a mix of their own contemporary songs alongside timeless Appalachian tunes.

Dana is originally from the Pacific Northwest but moved to New England where he joined a strong community of songwriters. Sue is from a musical New England family and studied with many oldtime musicians in the Asheville area of North Carolina. They met at a house concert ten years ago in 2002.

Dana and Sue have recorded four albums together, the most recent of which is American Hornpipe, a collection of fourteen songs that was released earlier this year. They describe American Hornpipe as "a melting pot of Appalachian, Celtic and African influences, distilled into the stories that unite all us folks as… well, folks".

The Lamb Inn, Wed 5th Sep, 20:00. £6.
